“I do”  The Legal, financial, and social benefits of marriage.

The recent expansion of marriage equality has opened opportunities and provided new benefits to the LGBT community not dealt with previously. This month’s program will cover the benefits of all legally recognized marriages, in which our three panelists will each share their specialized knowledge, with a Q & A session  following.

Trisha Falvey, M.A., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a practice in St. Louis Park, MN. She created a Pre-marital education and counseling program specifically for same gender couples in 2009 and is thrilled that now, upon completion, same gender couples receive a discount on their marriage license.

Melissa J. Houghtaling, j.d. has developed a family law practice that is focused on cost-effective and creative solutions for traditional and non-traditional families of Minnesota.

From the exciting time when relationships and families are just beginning to the difficult time when relationships are changing and/or ending, Melissa believes that individuals and families are best served when expectations are clear, honest, and based in realistic outcomes.
